Preparing for relaxation session. Make sure the phone is turned off, or off the hook. Put some pleasant ambient music on softly in the background, you may like to burn some essential oils to assist your relaxation. Oils such as lavender, sage, sandalwood, frankincense, orange blossom all create a beautiful atmosphere and can be purchased at many retail outlets. (Buy good oils, not the cheep and nasty ones; there is a difference in the quality.)Next ensure you are wearing comfortable clothing, nothing too tight or restrictive. Tell other family members you are about to have some quiet time, and not to disturb you.Ensure the area or room where you are going to sit, is clean – get rid of any clutter in the room, make the room beautiful for yourself, vacuum the room thoroughly.Clean room space provides for good energy flow, and what I term bad energy hangs onto clutter and grime. So make that room sparkle and put everything away that does not need to be out, put the magazines in the magazine rack, the cd’s back in their cases, the shoes outside the door or near the door. Now you’re ready. Either sit or lie comfortably gently closing your eyes, take a deep breath in counting slowly from one to seven, and then counting again from one to seven to yourself slowly as you breathe out. Repeat this process seven times, breathing in slowly and out slowly, the reason for this is that controlling the breath and breathing deeply and slowly also creates a balance between right and left hemispheres of the brain. This makes the relaxation process much easier. Simply breathe deeply and slowly, there is no race. You are going to sit and relax or lie and relax for approximately 10 -15 minutes. You have finished your deep breathing exercise and your eyes are still closed, your hands are open with your palms facing upward or inward, which ever is comfortable, avoid crossing your legs or placing yourself in an uncomfortable position. Keeping your eyes closed, you may now simply begin to focus on the rise and fall of your breathing, breathing in and breathing out, breathing in and breathing out. If a thought jumps into your mind, simply say no to the thought and bring your attention back to the breathing, breathing in and breathing out, breathing in and breathing out.You are likely to find you have many thoughts pop up out of nowhere as a result of wanting to relax, you may find yourself all of a sudden remembering that you have not been to the shop, and forgot to pay the milkman. No matter what thoughts flood your mind, just remember this is your time and this is your space, and the matter can wait ten minutes until you have had some time to yourself to rebalance your energy. Now I want you to visualise your body as a beautiful glass statue, and what we are going to do is simply imagine you are going to breathe each breath into your body filling that beautiful body with coloured breath. You can choose which ever colour you wish, depending upon what you want to achieve. Definition of colour in brief: White reflects purity and is a combination of all colour of the spectrum of life. Yellow and orange is sunshine and aids digestion promotes movement forward in life. Green is harmony balance and healing. Purple is for higher wisdom sometimes self sacrifice and religion. Blue light and dark are for the sciences, for the healing knowledge, for spiritual path and cooling good for things like high blood pressure. Black – is the absorption of all things, it absorbs negative energy and positive energy alike; it takes on everything surrounding it, and is the colour of the occult masters. It is not recommended anyone use black, as the results can be disturbing to say the least. So you have picked the colour you are going to use now begin simply breathing in that colour first to your big toe and then with each breath continuing until you have filled your whole body, take your time. Let the energy fill each part of you feel he energy of your chosen colour filling each tiny space in your body, mind, soul. Stay focused on the task at hand; don’t allow your mind to wander off on its own adventures. A huge part of learning to relax is learning to see just how busy your mind is and taking the control of it so your mind does not control you – you control it. When you are ready take your time coming back to your daily life, sit quietly allow you mind to focus on the noises arround you and also gently move you body, dont rush back into your day, take your time. You may find you think you have been sitting in meditation for only a few minutes yet when you go back to your daily tasks it could be quite a lot of time passed. This is common. Remember this may be difficult the first time you attempt it, but don’t give up; they say a person needs to use the technique for 40 days straight to master its secrets. When you have filled your glass body statue with the breath, now gently allow all of that coloured air to begin flowing out of the body into the outer atmosphere of the earth, as the coloured energy leaves your body, you will feel a sense of warmth, clean peace and as you imagine the energy flowing out, you can feel each muscle in your body beginning to relax, deeper and deeper. Just be still enjoying the sense of peace and feel the rise and fall of the breath in the body. What if you go to sleep? Well that simply means you are very tired, noting more. Still keep practicing the relaxation technique each day until one day you will notice that you wont go to sleep – you will move into an altered space of consciousness where you will feel a peace like you have not felt for years – its then you have reached the space within your body, mind and soul where physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing can begin. At the end of each session write in your Journal, how you felt, thoughts that ran through your head, and any other expereinces you may have had. Enjoy……Many Blessings TRUITY.
